The fixtures for the top two grades are here!
Season 2022-23 is fast approaching with clubs around the competition ready to gear up for a big pre-season for the first time in over two years as COVID-19 subsides across the country.
The 2022-23 season will revert to the 'norm', with teams in the Shield Grades playing 7x One Day matches and 7x Two Day matches in a season that somewhat mirrors the 2019-20 competition, our last regular season before COVID struck.
The Longmuir Shield fixture is headlined by a number of tantalising battles, including Round 1 which has Bentleigh Uniting (2nd) and Brighton Union (3rd at the end of the home & away season) going head-to-head. Newly promoted CHAG will host West Bentleigh (7th) at Beazley Reserve in Round 1.
Elwood is set to return to the redeveloped Elwood Park No.1 in Round 2, with a Grand Final rematch with Bentleigh Uniting set to occur in Round 4 of the competition.
In Woolnough Shield, both Hampton United & Cheltenham Park have been promoted, with Hampton Central & Kingston Heath 2 moving down to Quiney Shield.
Cheltenham Park returns to the second grade for the first time since 2014-15 and will host Bentleigh ANA (8th in Longmuir Shield) in the opening round of the year.
Hampton United move into Woolnough Shield for the first time in nearly a decade after taking out the Quiney Shield premiership, with the 'purple haze' set to unfurl the flag at Sillitoe Reserve on October 8 against Woolnough Shield runners-up Cluden.
Finals for both Longmuir Shield and Woolnough Shield will begin on the first weekend in March, with the Grand Finals slated for March 18 & 19.
